In the video above, I use the keyboard shortcut “infty” to insert an infinity symbol into my document. Click in the Word document where you want to insert the trademark symbol and then type (tm) to convert these keystrokes to the superscript trademark symbol. When you type the shortcut into your document, Math AutoCorrect will automatically replace that text with the associated symbol. Shortcuts are especially useful if you’re using the same symbols or special characters over and over again. For example, Word provides foreign language letters and symbols all sorts of fun stuff. Keyboard shortcuts are sets of one or more keys that you type to complete an action rather than clicking with your mouse. Word 2010 lets you sprinkle characters beyond the keyboard’s 26 letters of the alphabet, numbers, a smattering of symbols, and punctuation thingies. Scroll down and find the Japanese (Japan) options, open it up by clicking the + sign and select Microsoft IME. Math AutoCorrect lets me insert symbols and special characters into my documents using keyboard shortcuts. After you press the Add button, you should see this Add Input Language menu. Immediately you press Alt +228 on your keyboard after the alt code, Word will convert the code into a sigma symbol. Type the Sigma symbol Alt code (228) with your numeric keypad.
